Kuala Lumpur (3:05) (sound/slide program) This soundwalk was taken in late January 2010 with Kok Siew Wai's sound class from the Multimedia University in Kuala Lumpur. We met downtown at the Masjid Jamek train station, historically important because it is at the confluence of two rivers, where Kuala Lumpur was first established. Also important because this area brings together three cultures that are integrated in Malaysian life. This piece cross-fades excerpts from the first half of our soundwalk, which began by the mosque, continued through the roadside shops of Little India and in to the main market area of Chinatown.
